The Emancipation Proclamation is an executive order that was issued by Abraham Lincoln. His intentions were to proclaim the freedom of slaves, so I suppose A matches that the most :) @Ms-Brains

Well, from what I remember it had something to do with the Civil War. So that would leave A or C, although I'm not entirely sure. Gimme a sec. ;)

And it also stated something about the birth of a new freedom which may be referring to freeing the slaves and also keeping democracy alive.
I'm a little confused on which wording (option) that this would match, but I'd also go for A myself. @Ms-Brains
