What were the causes of lynching in the United States South? WILL MEDAL AND FAN

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

Think about what a lynching is. Lynching is a mob of people, usually white males, that attacked African Americans in the South. These lynchings were caused by lingering racism left from slavery in the South. Does that make sense?

Yes, that makes perfect sense. I know what lynching is. Was the Jim Crow Act a cause for lynching in the United States South?

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

I would argue that the cause of lynching was lingering racism, however you could say the a failure to produce legislation led to the Jim Crow Acts which promoted racism which promoted anger and hate toward African Americas/
