Which event might an author use to develop the theme of initiation in a story in which the protagonist runs away from an orphanage run by an evil matron? He returns to his hometown and meets his long lost family. He joins a group of mobsters who teach him the ways of the underworld. He wanders around the city for days looking for work. He returns to the orphanage with the police to confront the matron.
