can someone help me out here ?! An auto mechanic ordered eight car spark plugs and four truck spark plugs. Car spark plugs cost $.75, and truck spark plugs cost $3.00 apiece. Use the distributive property to find the total cost of these parts.

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Okay. You want to take all the information and basically put it all together. So each car spark plug costs \(0.75\) and there are \(8\) of those. Also, each truck spark plug costs \(3.00\) and there are \(4\) of those. So you want to solve this: \((0.75*8)+(3.00*4)=\)

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

When you do that you should get: \(18\)
