# miles per 1 gallon
makes us want to assume that the "per" is 1
in the case of 360 miles per 25 gallons
the "per" is 25 not 1
so to get to to become 1
we do: 360 divided by 25 = ?
that would give us the miles per gallon of the first car
what would you get? :)
OpenStudy (tennis5518):
14.4 or 14 2/5
OpenStudy (tennis5518):
Is not right @jigglypuff314
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
Perfect!
and we can use the same idea on the second car ^_^
do you have an idea on what to do??

I don't really know @jigglypuff314
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
well if we did the miles divided by the gallons
to get miles per gallon
360 divided by 25 for the first one
what numbers do you think we can use for the second one? :)
OpenStudy (tennis5518):
360 divided 25 =14.4 so....
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
what are the second pair of numbers that the question gave us? :)
OpenStudy (tennis5518):
480 mile and 32 gallon

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
exactly! :D
so we can divide it in the same way :)
480 divided by 32
OpenStudy (tennis5518):
ok so 480 divided 32 = 15
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
now we compare the two numbers we got :)
the bigger the number is, the farther the car can go per gallon = better
OpenStudy (tennis5518):
Compare 14.4 and 15???
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
yes :)
