jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

# miles per 1 gallon makes us want to assume that the "per" is 1 in the case of 360 miles per 25 gallons the "per" is 25 not 1 so to get to to become 1 we do: 360 divided by 25 = ? that would give us the miles per gallon of the first car what would you get? :)

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

14.4 or 14 2/5

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

Is not right @jigglypuff314

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

Perfect! and we can use the same idea on the second car ^_^ do you have an idea on what to do??

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

I don't really know @jigglypuff314

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

well if we did the miles divided by the gallons to get miles per gallon 360 divided by 25 for the first one what numbers do you think we can use for the second one? :)

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

360 divided 25 =14.4 so....

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

what are the second pair of numbers that the question gave us? :)

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

480 mile and 32 gallon

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

exactly! :D so we can divide it in the same way :) 480 divided by 32

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

ok so 480 divided 32 = 15

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

now we compare the two numbers we got :) the bigger the number is, the farther the car can go per gallon = better

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

Compare 14.4 and 15???

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yes :)

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

ok then how @jigglypuff314

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

the bigger the number is, the farther the car can go per gallon = better

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

ok so how would i compare it @jigglypuff314

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

compare the two numbers the bigger one it better

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

15??

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

that's right ^_^ so that car has the better miles per gallon

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

so the answer is 15??

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

the answer is the car that goes 15 miles per gallon which car is that?

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

i dont know

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

well how did we get the number 15? do you remember? :)

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

480 divide 32

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

and Who 's car did we get those numbers from? :)

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

15??

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

take a look at the question what is the person's name - where we got the number 480 and 32 from? :)

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

Mrs. Walter drove 480 mi. and 32 gallon of gas

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

@jigglypuff314

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

are you sure it was Mrs ?

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

Yes Mrs. Walter

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

wait sorry Mr. Walter

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

^ there you go :)

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

so the asnwer is..... :?

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

@jigglypuff314

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

:/

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

you just got it :P

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

Mr. Walter 15

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

???

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

Mr. Walter's car is better :)

OpenStudy (tennis5518):

Ok thank you for the patient im not good at math

OpenStudy (tennis5518):
