to reduce a number by \(30\%\) multiply it by \(100\%-30\%=70\%=0.7\)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
to increase it by \(8\%\) multiply by \(100\%+8\%=108\%=1.08\)

to do both , multiply it by \(0.7\times 1.08\)
