yes its possible but its upon the amins and devs to implement it 
the site already has lil lag and this might add to lag 
but again we can do the conversation with students like in pms or chat boxes :| ik this is not that conversation type that u r looking for but still js.. :) nice idea tho

one more thing is that this will decrease your increment in SS because -> SS increases with each comment you give on post but if u explain it all in the conversation then the number of comments will be less so less SS increment
