OpenStudy (tootsi123):

Write using a fractional exponent.

OpenStudy (tootsi123):

\[3\sqrt{x ^{2}}\]

OpenStudy (welshfella):

\[\sqrt{x}\] in exponent form is x^1/2

OpenStudy (tootsi123):

how do you get that

OpenStudy (welshfella):

it just is so you have x^2 taken to the power 1/2 you use one of the rules of exponents (a^m)^n = a^mn for example (x^6)^1/2 = x^(6*1/2) = x^3

OpenStudy (tootsi123):

oh okay thank you

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yw the 3 just stays there
