Geometry help! Will fan and medal. Kyra is using rectangular tiles of two types for a floor design. A tile of each type is shown below:

Which statement is correct? The two tiles are similar because segment SR is to segment SP is 3 : 2 and segment ML is to segment MJ is also 3 : 2. The two tiles are not similar because segment PQ is to segment QR is 6 : 4 and segment JK is to segment KL is 9 : 8. The two tiles are not similar because segment SP is to segment SR is 4 : 7 and segment MJ is to segment ML is 2 : 3. The two tiles are similar because segment PQ is to segment QR is 6 : 5 and segment JK is to segment KL is also 6 : 5.

@ParthKohli @Luigi0210

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Hi! @RhondaSommer can you help?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

use the distance formulae

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Which is?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

\[d=√(x2-x1)^2-(y2-y1)^2

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

\[d=√(x2-x1)^2-(y2-y1)^2\]

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Thanks for the help! I'll try it out.

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

:)

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

I just got 6.. I'm very confused

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

where does the 6 do anything?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

hold on

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Okay

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

which one did you get 6 to>

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

I did the distance formula for S and R

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

now do rq

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

I got 4

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

so the ratio is 6:4 for that one :)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

mow do ML and LK :)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

lol MLK XD

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

This is making so much more sense thank you

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

yeah nomprob :)

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

I got 9 and 6? I think i made a mistake on the last one

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Oh wait i redid it and got 8

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

so 9:8

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

B is the only choice with 6:4 and 9:8 so B?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

yep :)

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Thank you so much!

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

yeah no prob!

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

fan me :) then if you tag me I can help you

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):
