OpenStudy (reneeshumpert):

Each of the letters in the word "algebra" are written on individual slips of paper and placed in a box. Rajiv chooses a slip of paper from the box. What is the probability that Rajiv chooses a vowel or the letter "r"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do how many r's there are divided by the number of total letters

OpenStudy (reneeshumpert):

how? I kinda gotta know how to get the answer. future reference

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so you find out how many vowels are in the word "alegbra" and the answer is 3. Then you add the "r" as a letter and that adds up to four letters. Then you have a 4/7 chance of picking a vowel or a "r".

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do they 4/7 as an option? Because there are two "a's" and that might count as 1 so it might be 3/7.
