a cellular phone company charges $10 for each phone plus $30 per month under a special sale plan. the total cost c (in dollars) of operating the phone is given by the linear model c(t)=10+30t, t is greater than or equal to 0 how many months would it take to have a total cost of $280
Wouldn't $280 be c, so that 280=10+30t, which could be solved for 9=t, or am I making this too simple?
i don't think that's the right answer because it's multiple choice question and the choices that are given are 6 months, 8 months, and 10 months!! i tired so hard on it but i'm not getting the right answer!
Hmm, I'm sorry, I don't know what else to do! Good luck
It doesn't say anything about more than one phone, correct?
thank you so much for your help...i really appreciate it and no thats the equation the way it is :(

Well you pay the cell bills at the beginning of the month, so technically you'll only need 8 months to get to a total cost of $280.
You do $10+$30 x 12 months and you'll get the answer you want.
