Be compassionate to those asking questions.

Treat the other person with respect.

Build upon what the other person already knows about the topic at hand.

Try to choose the proper level of instruction, neither too advanced nor too simple for the person who asked the question at hand.

Don't ask for medals.

Involve the learner so that he / she can actually find his / her own answer (with your guidance as necessary, but no more than that).

Think: What would you appreciate if someone were helping you? Treating others that way is a good way to be awarded medals (without asking for them).

well to earn medals is to help people... also the answer has to be correct or if it isn't correct, if u r lucky the person might still give you medal for at least trying to help!

You shouldn't exactly ask for medals. Just be happy to help. It's not all about the medals. You can explain as much as you want and not get a medal and still get to 99SS. :)
