He does not know how many points each basket was worth. C. Ruben knows each basket is worth 2 points. He does not know how many baskets he made.

in algebra we usually leave out the x (for multiply) or if we want to show multiply we use a dot, because x is used for a variable name. in this case I assume they mean 2s (which means 2 times s) and that is the number of points he scored. 2s is not the same as just "2" so we can't say he scored 2 points in the game. Cross off any choice that says he scored 2 points in the game
