Please help ASAP MEDAL AND FAN!!! 2 ACCOUNTS Explain why Fifteenth and Sixteenth Century Europeans called the Americas the “New World.” Using evidence from the chart below, explain why this statement was not accurate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They called it the "New World" because until then they didn't know it existed. I think you'd say that they've been there a long and and use the chart to show that. (I know I'm not saying this properly) But they've been there long even to have a civilization. And in their own way, they were very developed. To the Europeans, the Native Americans didn't seem very advanced. (At least I think)

The reason why Fifteenth and Sixteenth Century Europeans called the Americas the “New World” is because they thought the world was a flat disc, and they thought the world had an edge you sailed off of. So when they discovered america it seamed like a new world because the thought nothing was there before, just water. So it seemed like a different world. Also the natives Americans spoke a different language and looked different so they were somewhat like aliens I guess. They also called it the "New World" because until then they didn't know it existed. Their home country had governments and laws but america did not have most from the chart down below but goods! But they've been there long enough to even to have a civilization. And in their own way, they were very developed. To the Europeans, the Native Americans didn't seem very advanced.
