@RhondaSommer

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

okay so 904/100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

900 goes into 100 how many times?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

*hint* divide 900 by 100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

=9

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

yes so that going to be your "whole" number

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

now you only have 4/100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

try dividing both sides by 4. 4/4=? over 100/4=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait what

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

(you are simplifying it)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

so what did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so for 4/4 i got 1

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

okay so its going to be 1/(100/4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

100/4 is what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

25

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

so its going to be 9 and 1/25 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ty!

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

do you actually get what im saying or are you confused a bit still>

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

@littleelfie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a little

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

what are you confused on>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on why you have to divid 4 both sides by 4

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

because you have to simplify a fraction to the smallest number we can get it. (rules of math) for EX 50/100 we would divide it by 50 to get 1/2. Its just easier to understand i guess? it makes more sense when you draw it out...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
