OpenStudy (anonymous):

but regardless to me D makes the most sense

OpenStudy (welshfella):

look at A what is 900,000 / 90,000

Our number system is base 10. So as you move from left to right in the digits you are increasing the value of the digit by a factor of 10. Similarly, as you move from right to left you divide by 10. For example, the thousands place is 10 times the hundreds place. Or you can say the hundreds place is 1/10th the thousands place. So the option "A" in your quest . . . is it true? Yes, the hundred thousands place is one digit to the right of the ten thousands place, so it is 10 times in value. Now, please try to decide of the others, B-D are true.
