Odysseus inst really  a hero at all. In the book and movie the Odyssey, he didnt want to go to war for his people, on most of his journeys he would put the lifes of his fellow army members at risk for treasure or leave them for death such as the one with the  cyclops. I personaly think Odysseus is a pretty kool guy but, not so much as a hero. I know I didnt answer you  question at all but I hope it helped in some way. Qualities of an epic hero: Overcoming great obstacles by being courageous, clever, etc, but also having a major flaw. Odysseus's major flaw is probably arrogance.
