OpenStudy (steve816):

Please help me with a really confusing word problem. For every dollar Ben spent on bagels, David spent 25 cents less. Ben paid $12.50 more than David. How much did they spend in the bagel store together?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Ben spends x dollars. David spends 25 cents less, or 0.75x dollars. Can you solve the rest of this problem?

OpenStudy (steve816):

No :( Can you help me set up the equation?

OpenStudy (steve816):

Please...

OpenStudy (elite):

idont understand that

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

0.75x=12.50 x=how much david spent

zepdrix (zepdrix):

(Ben spent) - (David spent) = How much more Ben spent than David 1x - .75x = 12.50 Like that I think?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):
