A tank with a small hole at the bottom has been filled with water and kerosene (specific gravity 0.8 ).The height of water is 3m and that of kerosene 2m. When the hole is opened the velocity of the fluid coming out is?

OpenStudy (priyar):

isn't it (2gh)^1/2 ?

OpenStudy (priyar):

logically kerosene will stay on top..so water gets emptied first and then kerosene?

Parth (parthkohli):

Ah, so the same tank then? I read somewhere that Bernoulli's equation cannot be applied when there's an interface of liquids. I still don't understand why. But here is what you can do.|dw:1454509490782:dw|
