How to calculate relative frequency in this question? MEDAL!!

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Add up the two vertical and two horizontal totals and the grand total. Then work backwards.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Okay so the total for doing chores is 16 Total for not doing chores is 9 Total for people who get allowance is 18 Total for people who do not get allowance is 7

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

What do I do these totals?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

@Kainui

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

So the question is: What is the relative frequency of students that do chores and get an allowance to the number of students that do chores?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Is it that since I know 13 students do chores and take an allowance and the total for doing chores is 16, do I divide 13 by 16?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

And then multiply it by 100 to get the percent?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Don't multiply by 100 to get %. It's already %.|dw:1454531651484:dw| That's it. Now, divide everything by 25 and you will have your relative frequencies. It does not matter if you write 13/25 or 0.52 or 52%. Take your pick. They are all the same
