What is the pattern of the predator-prey relationship shown on this graph? A. There is a decrease in the prey population even without an increase in the predator population. B. The rise in the prey population precedes a rise in the predator population. C. The rise in the prey population follows a rise in the predator population. D. There is an increase in the prey population as the predator population increases. https://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1123000_1123500/1123375/1/da4e4dbd3683f651305ac4f1783cd34854fcfb1a/MS2_LIF_05_16_Q2_AS.jpg

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

I'm thinking of A though, also for those that helped me with my other questions, thanks so much! I really appreciate it.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

You have to talk them out. Why do you think A? How did you rule out the others? Be a scientist!

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

A. There is a decrease in the prey population even without an increase in the predator population. This one honestly doesn't make sense to me, but it makes the most sense. Because without the increase in the predator population there is a decrease in the prey. B. The rise in the prey population precedes a rise in the predator population. Precedes means before, and it's not really before. C. The rise in the prey population follows a rise in the predator population. There is a rise in prey but not sure it follows the rise of the predator population cause it doesn't rise much. D. There is an increase in the prey population as the predator population increases. Same as C, there is not much increasing on the predator population. I am not 100% sure but I just really need help!

@Zale101 @dan815 @zepdrix @tkhunny @Luigi0210 @mayankdevani @Conqueror @timo86m @just_one_last_goodbye @Awolflover1

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

Do you think I'm right?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

A: Well, that's true, right at the beginning of each cycle. B: Absolutely. Prey is about half way. Predator waits for 3/4-ish. C: No, this is contrary to B D: That's just silly. Evaluate each on it's own merits. compare and contrast. Formulate and judge. This is not 2+2 = 4. It requires impressions and understanding.

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

So it would be B?

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

Yeah I'm thinking its B now..

OpenStudy (prominer10000):

So it would be B @tkhunny ?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Not sure. I cannot decide between A and B. This is not my field. I can offer only rational support.
