Thank you. Can you help me on this one? During the Cold War, people were afraid of communists, both outside and inside the United States. The Red Scare and McCarthyism that grew out of these fears was damaging to the American way of life. During the McCarthy years, many of the freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights were limited. Write a paragraph explaining what lessons can be learned from the McCarthy era about what U.S. citizens need to protect in order to preserve the democratic political system and American way of life.

Atomic weapons have only been used twice. Bothe time by the United States. And both times against Japan. Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The US tried to keep anybody else from getting the bomb, but the Soviets did. The Cold War never saw the use of nuclear weapons. But it changed everything when both sides had the same weapon. I can explain more if you'd like.

Always glad to help. Here's some pointers on being a good citizen here. Post new questions in a new post. You can only give one medal per post. Be generous with medals and you will get more help. Close your question when you think you have a correct answer. If all you want is a link. Say that. Or Google it yourself. If you want an explanation, I can help you understand. But I don't waste my time on people who don't really want to understand. So post your question and let me know if you want an explanation.
