Guys, I really need help understanding this Biology assignment. I'm so confused about what to do and what I'm supposed to divide and label and everything. (I will attach the instructions I am given below plus the link to the virtual lab that I am to do)
Here are the instructions I am given.
And here is the worksheet I am to complete.
And here is the virtual lab that I am to complete all of this with. http://www.mhhe.com/biosci/genbio/virtual_labs_2K8/labs/BL_03/index.html
I did the first 5 steps, and I understand those completely. The rest I do not understand. How am I supposed to keep track of the cells? What does it mean by "cells at rest?" What am I specifically dividing? Please, I'd love if someone could walk me through everything!!
@AlexandervonHumboldt2 @Conqueror :)
@TheSmartOne @Pinkybottom67
@zepdrix
I'll help you but, i want to tell me what is your doubt and post the question itself please.
I posted all the information here that I was given, including all the questions and everything. I just need someone to go step by step with me through the Instructions.
@Somy Are you able to help me? It'd be amazing if you could!
i can, if you are willing to learn that is. That means, we've gotta break it down, your file, and go one by one so post each part separately so we can discuss it here.
Of course I'm willing to learn! ^-^ I'm not into direct answers and all of that. I posted both the instructions and the worksheet in the attachments up above. Can you take a look at those and go through them with me?
okay then, we shall start in a new post
as of the beginning do everything your instructions are asking for
Thats the thing, I do not understand the instructions. Have you read all the info and attachments and links that I posted? Its all there, I just need someone to guide me through it.
@Somy
@jigglypuff314 Hey, do you think you could possibly look at this and help me out? I've really gotta get a move on in Biology and I'm constantly getting stuck because I'm not even understanding the instructions. I'd appreciate it very much ♥
1. Open the virtual lab: The Cell Cycle and Cancer 2. The lab simulation will be on the right side of the screen, and the “Question” column will be on the left side. 3. Read all of the background information and instructions in the “Question” column. 4. Click the “Information” button in the bottom right corner of the lab simulation. Read all of the background information. 5. Watch the video on Mitosis by clicking on the monitor in the lab simulation. 6. Click on the microscope in the lab simulation to examine the different stages of mitosis as they appear in different tissue samples. Three types of tissue are available for examination: lung, stomach, and ovary. Samples of normal tissue and cancerous tissue are included. Examine both normal and cancerous tissue for each tissue type. Follow the instructions to label each stage of the cell cycle, and then check your answers by clicking “check”. Record the number of cells in each stage of the cell cycle in the Data Table. You must examine two different views of each tissue type and condition – click reset to view alternate samples of each tissue type until you have recorded the number of cells in each stage of the cell cycle for 2 different samples of each tissue. I think this is possible to be done by you alone. Its just clicking and reading
Like I said in the above, I understand the first 5 steps. I don't understand this part... "Record the number of cells in each stage of the cell cycle in the Data Table. You must examine two different views of each tissue type and condition – click reset to view alternate samples of each tissue type until you have recorded the number of cells in each stage of the cell cycle for 2 different samples of each tissue."
you just need to count the number of cells in each sample for example in this sample you have 20 cells in total of which all of the cells are in interphase stage which only 1 is in prophase
and write it down in your data table
The sample that you screen shotted, is that cancerous tissue or normal tissue? Because I'm supposed to keep track of both as there are data tables for each.
its written on the side, pay attention when you are checking samples. http://prntscr.com/9zj4wd
