Question for the people-Why do people spam do they want to get in trouble by a Moderator or get suspended? I don't think its right when people curse either there are children on here also that need our help with questions. And there are abunch of mean people that need to fix there attitude. If they don't like a person than ignore them or quite don't be mean to that person, its people make me upset sometimes I want to be a Moderator so people can depend on me and I dont get angry to quick this is not a spam this is a question Thank You!

A moderator is a user on OpenStudy that moderates and makes sure to keep the site under control. Moderators protect the CoC (Code of Conduct) and TaC (Terms and Conditions) by volunteering their time to make the best experience for users on OpenStudy. You can tell if a user is a mod by looking at their purple username. Requirements are needed to be brought up to on becoming a moderator on OpenStudy. Here they are: - Be 18 and older - You have to be, and act mature - Have been on the site for a decent amount of time. (usually more than 6 months). - Be an positive and active user on the site - Having a squeaky clean abuse record. - Have good attitude with fellow users. - Having a good sense of justice. - Be an expert in a field of study. - Do a great job in the ambassador program*. *In the ambassador training period, you'll learn how the rules work on OpenStudy and you'll learn how to make the right decisions. Being an Ambassador isn't required, but it can help. You have to win the respect of this community through interaction, knowledge and the ability to interact and intervene in an appropriate manner. It is a big part based on participation, courtesy and respect. You have to be willing to make some effort to solve/prevent arguments and problems that arise, and DO NOT ask to become a moderator, as this will only decrease your chances of becoming one. Then, when the admins decide they need more moderators, you might get asked. Good luck!

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Please take notice on the part that asking to become a mod only decreases your chance of becoming one.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

I do agree with your points...rules are guidelines for the site. Those who choose not to follow it receive consequences.

OpenStudy (hauntedwoodsgal):

Yes thank you @EclipsedStar some people don't understand that some kids wander the threw sites and come on here and they curse alot I think that is not good cause kids will start repeating them.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Agreed. All we can do is somehow compromise, or just set up the right example and report those not doing the right thing. It's the rule breakers themselves that need to change first. :)

OpenStudy (hauntedwoodsgal):

Yes agreed

OpenStudy (hauntedwoodsgal):

@EclipsedStar I was catching people in chat cursing and I asked them to stop and told them why they had to and I haven't seen a curse word yet.Which im glad

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Thanks for contributing to the good of the site. ^_^

Ok so you want to know-- Why do people spam? Do they want to get in trouble by a Moderator or get suspended? Here is why-- They do that because they think that they can just do whatever they want on certain sites. Sometimes even in there own house they think they still think that they can do whatever they want. On all sites they're rules. Such as a game called, "Animal Jam" they're are rules. Most people break the rules. And then, they get suspended and then they get unsuspended and they keep doing it over and over again. So therefore-- People just spam and they don't care that they get suspended so that's why they keep spamming. Hope this helps :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@__thunderbuddys__ look at all this writing I did :OOOO

OpenStudy (hauntedwoodsgal):

LOL

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

mods think they are rulers over us and that we should obey them (army commanders or wut?????) which causes many conflicts.
