Please Help!!! WILL MEDAL AND FAN!! Describe, in detail, when to use the law of cosines, the law of sines, and the law of sines with the ambiguous case. Provide general guidelines, in your own words, for each law that can be applied to any triangle situation with which you are presented.
Law of sines when you have 2 angles and one side. law of cosines when you have 2 sides and one angle. Is this right?
I just found the same exact question somewhere else and it has a really good explanation! Go check it out! It may help :) https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100412113825AAMue3s
@dumbcow ?
ok it depends which sides/angles you have If you have 2 sides and the angle is inbetween the 2 sides, then yes use Law of cosines If you have 2 angles and the side is opposite of one of the angles, then use law of sines
Im confused for " the law of sines with the ambiguous case" @dumbcow
law of sines with ambihuous case occurs when you have 2 sides and an angle opposite one of the sides so you use law of sines to solve for the 2nd angle, however it can lead to 2 possible solutions due to nature of sine function.
Great! Thank you so much!! Would you include anything else in the answer?
@dumbcow
Also if you have all 3 sides, you would use law of cosines
okay thank you so much!!
