zepdrix (zepdrix):

Wow that's a lot of questions... start with the easiest. Do you know how to do number 3?

OpenStudy (ilovemath14):

@zepdrix (x-5)(x+7) x(x+7) 5(x+7) x^2+7x + 5x+35 AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

oo close, you forgot the - in front of the 5 in this second step, x(x+7) 5(x+7) so we have x(x+7)-5(x+7) distribute -5 to each term in the second brackets, not 5

zepdrix (zepdrix):

x^2+7x-5x-35 ya? :)

OpenStudy (ilovemath14):

it was wrong @zepdrix

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Well you have to combine like-terms still :)

zepdrix (zepdrix):

See how the middle two terms both contain x's?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Combine them, 7apples -5apples = ?
