OpenStudy (baewolfstar):

Given the equation 4x + 2y = 9, which equation below would cause an inconsistent-independent system? A:6x + 12y = 13 B: 2x + y = -6 C:x - 2y = 7 D:8x - 4y = -5

OpenStudy (baewolfstar):

I am not sure the definition of causing inconstitent-indipendent system.

OpenStudy (ageta):

it mean that is is the only one that is not correct. so check the others and check if you get to the one that is different.

OpenStudy (baewolfstar):

Yeh.. but how do I tell which one is a inconstitent-indipendent system?

OpenStudy (ageta):

compare it to 4x+2y=9 one of it must be not consistent which mean it is changed

OpenStudy (baewolfstar):

Would it be D?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

4x+2y is (an obvious) multiply of 2x+y

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

"multiple" I meant.
