What would you say is the most important difference between metals and non-metals oxides? I know they form ionic solids and gas molecules, that they have basic and acid properties, in that orther.

Metal oxides - Ionic - High melting point and boiling point - reacts with water to give an alkaline solution - Fast reaction Non-Metal oxides - Covalent - Low melting and boiling point - reacts with water to produce an acidic solution - slow reaction
