OpenStudy (kayders1997):

Okay so what is something you can take out of (4x^2-36) what do they both have in common

OpenStudy (cheesecakekitten):

They're both multiples of 2?

OpenStudy (cheesecakekitten):

IDK.

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

Yes that is a good start and you know you cant take out any x's becausethey dont each have an x

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

You if you take out a 2 what will you have

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

This can help, then at the top you can use the calculator, it can tell you what you need to do, or even show you how.. http://algebrahelp.com/lessons/factoring/completely/

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

Do you wanna uhe calc or do you want an explanation on here?

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

I can help, you took the two out with is a good more of you will have 2(2x^2-18) can you factor again?

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

You can take out a 2 again so multiply the 2 by 2 so you will have 4(x^2-9) now you can factor again in the inside 4(x-3)(x+3) because x time x is x^2 the 3x-3x cancel and -3×3 is -9

OpenStudy (kayders1997):

So c is your answer
