If plants cause weathering by blocking out sunlight, doesn't that mean that exposed rocks shouldn't be weathered? Does weathering happen quickly? Remember, we are talking about things like breaking down rock... Does water expand or contract as it freezes? What happens to a water bottle if you fill it up and put it in the freezer overnight?
