Help me with this paper D: FAN AND MEDAL!!! Show all work pls

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

What is the assignment or question? @luckycoins888

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

file:///C:/Users/Lucky/AppData/Local/Temp/Temp1_FGA%20TGA%20zipped%20folder.zip/pdf/Unit%205%20FGA%20Teacher%20Graded%20Assessment.pdf

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Sorry it didn't work. Can you attach that file again? @luckycoins888

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Try copy paste into URL bar?

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Nope. Didn't work. Click Attach File at the bottom and then attach your file.

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

The unit 5 one

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Okay lets do number 1 first. :) To find volume you have to do \(width * length * height\)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

OK

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

So what is \(8 * 9 * 4\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }\)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

324?

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

No it is actually \(144\). To prove it look here: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=8+*+9+*+(4(1%2F2))

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

So thats number 1! :) \(144\)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Oh XD thanks!@

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Now number 2! :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Yeah!

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

:'D

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

The formula to find this is: \[A = a^2 + 2a \sqrt{\frac{ a^2 }{ 4 }}+h^2\]

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Now all you have to do is plug in \(7\) for \(a\) and \(9\) for \(h\). Then solve! :) When you do this you should get \(184.19\)

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Thats it! :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

OK Thx! One sec

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

wait 2a would become 27?

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

@AihberKhan ._. There is still one more question xD and im still confused kinda on this one

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

i cri evrytiem

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Ahh didn't see that one! sorry! Okay number 3! :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Yeah but for question 2 would "2a" become "27"?

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

._. im bad at math XD

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Well \(7*2\) is 14 so it would become 14.

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Ohh thanks

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Now. For number 3... the equation is \(2(wl+hl+hw)\)

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

All you have to do is plug in \(4.5\) for \(l\), \(1.5\) for \(w\), and finally \(3\) for \(h\).

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

When you do this, you should get \(49.5\)

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Thats it!! :) @luckycoins888

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

OK! Im still a little confused on le 2 tho

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Okay :) What are you confused about

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Would "a2" become 14 or "72" and 2 stands for cubed

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

It would become 49. Because you have to do \(7*7\). and 2 is not cubed its squared. Now all you have to do is plug in 7 for a and 9 for h. Then solve! :) When you do this you should get 184.19

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

So the answer for 2 is \(184.19\)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Oh ok

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Yes! :)

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Well, do you need help with any other units?

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Nope, and 9 squared becomes 81?

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Yes! :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

OK thanks :D

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

No problem! :) Well have a great day! :)

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

I hope I helped! :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Yas :DDDDDDD

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

uh what is the 2 in 2(wl+hl+hw)? @AihberKhan Sorryyy D:

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Well it is just the equation. I didn't plug anything in, that is simply the equation that is supposed to be there. Don't worry why its there just remember that, it HAS to be there :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

e.e I dont get iiiiitt. how do we come up with 49.5?

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

@AihberKhan HALP D':

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Okay! I can help. This is the equation: \(2(wl+hl+hw) \). Now we have to REPLACE \(w\) with \(1.5\), \(l\) with \(4.5\), and \(3\) for \(h\). When you replace them the equation should look like this: \(2((1.5)(4.5)+(3)(4.5)+(3)(1.5)\)

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Now just solve that equation.

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Whats the 3's ..? >_>

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

@AihberKhan >_< What are the 3's and am I supposed to write the parentheses?

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Look at question 3. Do you see the number \(3\) on the side of the picture? That is what the \(3's\) are for.

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Oh ok xD DO I WRITE THE PARENTHESES THOUGH?

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Sorry caps and I have to mention u again -_- @AihberKhan

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Haha its fine. Yes you do have to write the parenthesis. And you don't have to mention me. I see if you type, it just takes me some time to get here :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

So I just write 2((1.5)(4.5)+(3)(4.5)+(3)(1.5) and the answer is 49.5?

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Correct! :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Thanks :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

and its squared (2) right?

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

No you don't square, you just multiply by 2 :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

I mean the answer xD

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

its 49.5 squared ryte?

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Why do you think that? :)

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

Surface area xD

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Oh yes! I thought you meant the equation xD

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

So its 49.5²?

OpenStudy (luckycoins888):

@AihberKhan ._. I failed the test -_- -_- -_-
