I'm working with congruent triangles. It's a triangle with 2 sides that each equal 8 inches. The bottom side is unknkown. So sides xy and xz are both 8 inche and zy is unknown. Angle x is 60 degrees. Question 8 says Find the measure of angle y. Question 9 says find the measure of side yz. Thanks! There's an attachment in comments below

OpenStudy (danjs):

which number you looking at?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8 and 9

OpenStudy (danjs):

ok, that is an isosceles triangle, congruent is for 2 or more triangles that are the same. isosceles has two sides equal length,

OpenStudy (danjs):

The property of a triangle with 2 same side lengths, is the angles across from them are also the same measure angles Angle Y = Angle Z

OpenStudy (danjs):

and a triangle totals 3 angles to 180, so you can figure the angles 180 = 60 + x + x just used x as the angle value for both y and z 2x = 120 x=60 all three angles are 60

OpenStudy (danjs):

so it is really an equilateral triangle, all sides the same length

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the bottom side is also 8 inches, since it'seems equilateral?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since it's equilateral I meant to say

OpenStudy (danjs):

yes it is, all 3 angles are 60, and the sides are all same length

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, Thanks!

OpenStudy (danjs):

welcome

Could you please help with 10 and 11 too? It would be really appreciated.
