If I wanted to keep water at a constant low temperature for a long time would mixing refrigerant into it work?

btw this is for a project i'm doing.
water is brilliant at keeping it's temperature due to the hydrogen bonding how does coolant work?
I'm not exactly sure, I'm just trying to find a way to keep water at 0 Celsius for as long as possible and thought someone might know if this idea was valid or not.
