add both sides 14 14 -10 >x -14 +14 4 >x therefore x <4

the sign flip only happens when you multiply everything by a negative, for example if you have -1 < 3 multiplying by -1 changes the sign on every term, so you have to also change the > or < the other way 1 > -3
