If your a Christian do you have to pray?and go to church?
What do you mean by Christian? Do you mean someone whose familiar with scriptures, Old and New, and follows it or some notion you have.

Answer: Bible verse Hebrews 10:25 says: "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh."

Yes, praying is like talking to Jesus. We can put this in another way, since God is our father and we are his sons we can use this example: Does a father want his son to talk to him and tell him everything he's going throughout and stuff like that?

Yes, just like a father wants his son to have communication with his him, so does our father (God) wants us to have communication with him.
Communications with God the Father, is it an internal process in that your thoughts are always with him or do you have to call on Him for such to happen. Outward communications may occur in that God the Father may communicate to you in not so obvious ways or you communicate to others your experience and knowledge. In the sense of God the Father being omniscient everything you do and say is known and can be considered a outward prayer.
