Just got the Ghostery extension for Chrome. What trackers should I keep on for this site? Just the ads, or anything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ghostery is pretty great tho, would recommend

pooja195 (pooja195):

I don't think anything is necessary :-/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

? Does it not matter if I keep the advertisements blocked?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or it's not necessary to block anything?

pooja195 (pooja195):

We discourage the use of ad block.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does it matter if I block the analytics or the widgets?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K, ads are back

pooja195 (pooja195):

I'm not sure what you mean but we discourage the use of ad block instead you can subscribe to the site and get cool features! Choose your own "title" that appears by your username in study groups. A diamond SmartScore indicator that signifies your sponsorship. Surf OpenStudy without external advertisements.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean like blocking the trackers that aren't advertisements. I don't really know if those benefit Openstudy in any way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like the ScoreCard Research Beacon. Is having that enabled benefiting Openstudy in any way?

pooja195 (pooja195):

No extension interferes with OpenStudy except the notebook extension, quote/copying extension, openstudy beta, and ad block.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well this is kinda ad-block, but it can block things other than direct advertisements. Idk if the analytics should be banned or not.

pooja195 (pooja195):

I mean you can use it at your own will however OpenStudy hates ad block ;p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I ain't blocking the ads, and I know cause I got those three guys asking me if I want to go to college.

pooja195 (pooja195):

LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, thanks, I guess I'll just keep the advertisements on and not worry about the rest.

pooja195 (pooja195):

lol dunno if i was much help but yw ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tbh idk either it was a pretty stupid question lmao. thanks tho

pooja195 (pooja195):

;p yw there is no such thing as a stupid question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess, but it was poorly worded for what I wanted, which led to unnecessary confusion, so it wasn't the best question I could've asked.
