Can someone give me some reading elements such as similes or metaphors for example. Just like maybe 3 and include some examples.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why would you name yourself that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont think that answers the question I asked lol. Im just asking for some help.

Thank you! Much appreciated.

No problem. So, what is a simile anyway? "A simile is a way of describing something by comparing it to something else, often using the word "like" or "as." For example, "He is as brave as a lion." " What is a metaphor? "The definition of a metaphor is "a figure of speech containing an implied comparison, in which a word or phrase ordinarily and primarily used of one thing is applied to another. For example, "the curtain of night" or "all the world's a stage."" You can literally google what is a simile or metaphor. Here's what I pulled up. Hope this helps. :) For metaphors: http://examples.yourdictionary.com/metaphor-examples-for-kids.html For similes: http://examples.yourdictionary.com/simile-examples-for-kids.html

Thank you! I was also asking if I could get other elements, Such as a simile or a metaphor. Like other ones besides them. I need 3 others for an assignment.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Oh, okay. There's also another thing called \[personification\] "Personification is a figure of speech where human qualities are given to animals, objects or ideas. It is the opposite of a metaphor but is very similar. In the arts, personification means representing a non-human thing as if it were human."
