you are given a percentage and asked to find out the value which derives that percentage. So % = x/95 * 100 20 = x/95 *100 (20*95) / 100 = x solve for x and then subtract it from 95 to get your answer.
Or a more direct way (sorry I am used to this method of mine for solving) is to understand that after 20% off you have to pay for 80% of the actual value, which is the required answer. Substitute 80 in place of 20 above and you will get your direct answer!
80*90/100 = your answrer.

80*95=7600 which gives 76 when you divide by 100. also by 20*95 you get 19, and when you subtract that from 95 you get 76.
