HELPPPPPPPP!!!! with part B

OpenStudy (richgall____):

Jordan plotted the graph below to show the relationship between the temperature of his city and the number of cups of hot chocolate he sold daily:

OpenStudy (richgall____):

Part A: In your own words, describe the relationship between the temperature of the city and the number of cups of hot chocolate sold. Part B: Describe how you can make the line of best fit. Write the approximate slope and y-intercept of the line of best fit. Show your work.

ewwww graphs

OpenStudy (richgall____):

ikr they're so annoying

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

For part A. We need to see how many cups were sold and compare it to the temperature. So you could say: Part A: When looking at the graph, it seems as if the cooler the temperature was the more cups were sold. However, when it was TOO cold there were no cups sold and when it was TOO hot there were no cups sold. So the temperature had to be around 60 degrees to sell many cups.

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Now for part B. From MathIsFun >> "A line on a graph showing the general direction that a group of points seem to be heading.". That is line of best fit. So basically the line of best fit has to be the line that is completely straight and heads in one direction and touches the most points possible.

OpenStudy (aihberkhan):

Now the template of this formula is \(y = mx + b\) \(m\) is the slop and \(b\) is the y-intercept. Now just plug the numbers in! :)

OpenStudy (richgall____):

Thanksss a lot I've been working on this assignment for nearly a week just because of this question

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

that stuff is hard

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

and i'm a senior in highschool

OpenStudy (richgall____):

@AihberKhan i found the line of best fit so how would i tell which numbers to plug in

OpenStudy (richgall____):

lol I'm just in 8th grade

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

i remember doing this i passed this class with a d+ lol shows how much i know
