So Area of a Rectangle is Length * Width The area of the large rectangle is 10 * 5=50 The area of the small rectangle is 6 * 4=24 Therefore 24/50 is the shaded region, but the question asks for the NON shaded part so from subtraction, 26/50 is the NON shaded part. Now to get the percentage we simply multiply 26/50 * 100 which is 52%
