Can someone help me on setting up my experiment? This is what I got so far.. Hypothesis: Water will make a better difference for making mold on bread because molds are mostly water. Materials: ~ 6 pieces of bread ~ Milk ~ Water ~ Investigation notebook / papers ~ 6 zip lock bags ~ 2 empty spray bottles Procedure: 1. Gather materials 2. Put milk in a spray bottle same goes for the water. 3. Spray the milk twice on 3 pieces of bread and same goes for the water. 4. Put into separate zip lock bags. 5. Do step 3 once every day. 6. Record data / measurements every day. ..

When you know you recorded enough data then record your final data (conclusions, graphs, measurements, etc) Independent Variable: (Haven't done yet) Dependent Variable: (Haven't done yet) Control: (Haven't done yet) Constants: (Haven't done yet)
um....this is the math section
ik
how will you know that it was the difference in water and milk, what if one or the other just does nothing.. you should have a third one with all the same conditions as the other 2, but do not do any milk or water
what happens when you do nothing, a control test
i was going to do 3 at first but then the hypothesis i thought you could only do 2
you have the hypothesis ok, water will help mold grow on bread faster than milk the control bread, is part of the testing to prove that
so bread is control?
for example, how will you show that the water and or milk actually didnt slow down the production
you need a test running in which you do not influence it , and same conditions as all the others
this investigation is suppose to make me know if my hypothesis is correct, so this so the experiment it's self is basically the test run
you are testing if.. water increases the rate of mold growth on bread more than milk increases the rate of mold growth. right
having part of the experiment run a trial of bread without either the water, or the milk variables, you have a baseline value for the rate of mold growth. then you can say how the milk and the water really changed the mold production. you may get values for both milk and water that are worse or better than the control trial. but you wont be able to tell that one helped growth and one hindered it
