I have to solve the following system of equations using elimination, substitution, and graphing. 4x+y=13 6x-y=7 I solved using each way, but I got different answers. Is that supposed to happen? Please help!
lol. Can you show how you done it? There is no way you can get different answers
You should not be getting different answers. Do you have to solve it EACH way or can you pick one?
I have to solve it each way. For elimination, I got (2,5), substitution I got (10, -27), and graphing I got No Solution.
The elimination way gets the correct answer btw. Just recheck the substitution or post it here
For substitution, I did this.
I see the mistake. Its +4x not -4
For graphing, I did this. (The one in the left-hand corner.)
On your 3rd line of working out
But the 4x is positive in the original equation.
could you please explain it?
You see in red? THe brackets I drew? That is what you forgot to do.
yes. could you please wait while i solve so that you can check it?
ok..
x=-3
wait, no x=10
and y=-27
Hmm nope?
is x =-3?
x should be 2
could you help me understand how to get that?
