Savannah bought a box of nails for two projects. She uses 18 nails for the first project. For the second project, she uses 10 more than half the number of nails left in the box. Let n represent the original number of nails that come in a box. Which expression represents the number of nails Savannah uses for the second project?

So the link that you put there are the options ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

ok

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

so first of all we will need to get the important information which will be 18 nails for her first project, 10 more than half a number for her second project and n represents # of nails in box

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now what do i do

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

so now you put all the information you gathered into an expression

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

so we have 4 options

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

which one do you think it is given the information you need

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 1st one

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

I believe that is correct because when it say she uses 10 more than half the number you are adding that 10 and dividing it by 2 and you are subtracting the 18 by n. So if you put it all together it should give you the 1st option.
