OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

@inkyvoyd

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think you use \[a_1\left(\frac{1-r^n}{1-r}\right)\]

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

whoa, never seen that before...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am not getting any of your answer choices though

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

they are not showing up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they show up, but none is what i get when i add

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

idk, this is a khan academy question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k i made a mistake, got it now

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

o, k let me try this real quick, gotta find paper

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you need paper to figure out what to compute, you need a calculator to compute it

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

good point, an btw, is n 20?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[a_1\left(\frac{1-r^n}{1-r}\right)\]\[a_1=8,r=-1.5\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yes, \(n=20\)

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

ah

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

lets seee

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

is it... A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

o

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

let me try again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

probably screwed up when you put it in the calculator, that is why they used that as a "distractor"

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

So it ends up looking like \[8(\frac{ 1+1.5^20 }{1+1.5 })\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

o

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

well, thats where i went wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[8\left(\frac{1-(-1.5)^{20}}{1+1.5}\right)\]

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

a crud i forgot the ^20 is on the QUOTIENT of -1.5

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

r.i.p

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

GOT IT

OpenStudy (ibbutibbu.):

Its D
