solving systems of elimination -3x+7y=-6 10x-7y=-29 -x+3y=-12 -x+3y=-19 5x-3y=-10 -6x-3y=12

@pooja195 @Nnesha @satellite73

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you know wat mean elimination method to solve system of equations ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

what - sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i kinda solved the first question but idk what to do next

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

-3x+7y=-6 so than will be very easy than you know it 10x-7y=-29 ----------------- assume same so you have solved the first right sure ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i multiply the top by 10 and the bottom by three and got -30x+70=-60 30x-70=87

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

second -x+3y=-12 -x+3y=-19 multiplie both sides by -1 and what will get ? ------------

OpenStudy (isaidavila):

In the first just eliminate y and find the value for x. The second I think is wrong because the two equation are the same.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jhonyy9 did I do the first one right

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so how you have learned it than you have there that will be eliminated x and y too what mean these situation ? how many zeros will have this system ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sum up the equation to eliminate y and find x then plug in x to equation 1 or 2 to find y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so @jhonyy9 what did i do wrong

OpenStudy (isaidavila):

The third multiply the first equation for -1 and sum the equation to eliminate y then find the value for x.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

-3x+7y=-6 10x-7y=-29 in case of first you dont need multiplie it by nothing than you see when assum -7 by +7 will be eliminated - right ? so what will get for x ?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

yup :)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

whoops i messed up

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

-21/7 is not 3 ^_^ try again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

yup so x=-5 and y=-3 :) good job. do you have any questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need help on the second one

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

|dw:1455069722194:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im still kinda confused on how to do this can you show me number 4

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

number three?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

5x-3y=-10 -6x-3y=12 this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is not how to teach someone @RhondaSommer

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

yep :)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

and @Daniel56k i could care less about your opinion right now.

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

|dw:1455070217623:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is rude but okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

because honestly; you didnt reach out to help the asker @Daniel56k @Pandabear78963 that is correct :) so x=-2 and y=0

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

and i have different teaching methods then you @Daniel56k if you dont like it then oh well ^_^

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

sorry if i appeared to be rude

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

that wasnt the intent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you i think i can finish the other 4 problems
