OpenStudy (lolshay):

Can someone please freakin' help me with my French work?! I'll gladly become a fan and give a medal :/

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Hey whats your question? I can see if I can help but as i said earlier, Je parle un peu français.

OpenStudy (lolshay):

Hi! I just don't understand these two questions: Où sont les devoirs? / Où sont l'ordinateur et l'imprimante?

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

"Où sont" is a rough translation to "where is" or "where are". Les devoirs = The homework L'ordinateur = The computer L'imprimante = The printer So the questions are asking where those items would theoretically be.

OpenStudy (lolshay):

This is for " Où sont les devoirs?"

OpenStudy (lolshay):

And this is for "Où sont l'ordinateur et l'imprimante?"

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

LOL. Maybe. If someone threw their homework away. But maybe if theres a photo with some paper on a desk or something of the likes that would probably be right. The 2nd is definetely right.

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

I love your photo by the way haha :P

OpenStudy (lolshay):

Well, I'm trying to answer this question. :/

OpenStudy (lolshay):

Also, those aren't my photos. They're from my class.

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

I meant your profile photo :)

OpenStudy (lolshay):

Aw, thank you! #FeelTheBern

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

So im presuming youre matching up the quesiton with the provided photos. I would find it strange to find HW in the trashcan, but if thats the only seemingly right answer then i'd go with it.

OpenStudy (lolshay):

I think you're getting it mixed up. I'll explain again. I have to answer those questions in French, but I don't know how to.

OpenStudy (lolshay):

The questions I just given you.

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Right. It's asking "Where is the homework" and "where is the computer and printer". So if it's matched up with the trashbin, you'd say "Les devoirs est dans déchets" and "l'ordinateur et l'imprimante est sur la bureau" Notice the difference between "is in" and "is on" in each statement.

OpenStudy (lolshay):

You're such a saint, thank you so much! I've become a fan, but I don't know how to give a medal :(

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

All you do it click best response! :~) Have a good night!

OpenStudy (lolshay):

You, too! I'll come back to you if I need anymore helping :-)

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Actually, it wouldn't be 'est' in either of those answers. It should be sont. Est is not the plural conjugation for the verb and you have plural nouns so change it to sont and it will be correct. Sorry @lolshay for the late response, wasn't at home and openstudy doesn't like Safari too much. I hope this helps. If you ever need help with French, German or Spanish just tag me and I will answer :)

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

@lolshay: Read @ltrout 's comment carefully. This guy is the voice of wisdom ;-) and his comment will help you make your sentence right. By the way, the easiest way to say 'trashcan' or 'bin' is 'poubelle'.

OpenStudy (lolshay):

@Vincent-Lyon.Fr, yes you and @ltrout were right. I still have another chance to re-do it, so I'd be grateful if one of you guys helped me on it :/

OpenStudy (ltrout):

What do you need help on @lolshay ?

OpenStudy (lolshay):

I need to answer these questions: 1. Où est la fille?

OpenStudy (lolshay):

2. Où sont les devoirs?

OpenStudy (lolshay):

3. Où sont l'ordinateur et l'imprimante?

OpenStudy (lolshay):

Those are the only ones I'm struggling with :/

OpenStudy (lolshay):

@ltrout

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Alright one second :)

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Did your teacher mark those 3 wrong? IF so, did she state why?

OpenStudy (lolshay):

Yes, I'll tell you! Just one sec.

OpenStudy (lolshay):

"For #1, isn't she "under" something? For #2, you were right to use la poubelle, so don't change that part. For #2-3, what should est change to?"

OpenStudy (ltrout):

Okay that helps. This is what they should say: 1) La fille est sous la table. 2) Les devoirs sont à la poubelle. 3) l'ordinateur et l'imprimante sont sur le bureau. This should be correct.

OpenStudy (lolshay):

You're such a saint, thank you! I feel bad for taking the other girl away as my 'best response', but I want people who has the same problem as me to know these answers. So thank you for your time, kind sir :-)
