Today I was talking
to what I called a friend
And he told me that I shouldn’t be friends
with the "suicidal people"

I looked at him and I told him that they aren't just suicidal
I said
They have a story that is just waiting to be told
They want people to understand that they aren't just suicidal people.

They are people who are tired of living life
Because people like you don't take the time to help them when they don’t know what to do
And when you do "help"
You tell them to suck it up

I talk to these people with an effort of understanding
Because they aren't just suicidal people
They don’t want to live life
Because people like you tell them at every turn they are different

And when they go home they are told that they are worthless
They start to believe it.
When they are hurting and you tell them they are broken
They start to feel it

So I listen.
And when I am the only person who will listen to their pleas
When I attempt to understand their frustrations
They feel like they have a reason to live.

So "friend"
Understand that I have BEEN THERE BEFORE
That I was just one of the "Suicidal People"
And someone decided to listen so I decided to live.

It is really sad how some people can be this way, putting others down like that.
I was once one of those "Suicidal People" too, and I have also used my experience to help many others.

I think what you have written is very deep, very good, and something that should be read by many. Overall, the poem looks really good. I can tell that you have written this with very heartfelt words, and the emotion shows through. It's really quite good! :)

Wow. This is a very beautiful and touching poem!
I can also relate to this. I'll even go out as far to say that I still have those moments as one of those "Suicidal People."
It's sad how others just see this and think, "Eh, that's an emo kid. They just want attention."

Really though, what an amazing poem! I hope other people do read this and maybe find a change of heart when thinking about "Suicidal People."
And like I have written before:
"Your words can be like wings or they can be like weapons, they can either raise one up or kill them."
Let this be a reminder for us to be careful of what we say because we have no idea what may be going on in another person's life or even just in their mind.

I really like how you said, "Today I was talking
to what I called a friend" because we know what you are talking about and I think that you will be a good and famous poet one day.

you should make a little show for your parents and then they MIGHT put you on America's Got Talent and memorize the words and you can make into a song. That's what I do if Im listening to music or reading a poem I make a song out of it.

It makes it more fun and much much much easier to remember :D. It makes me feel like I have a friend next to me and she's reading this poem to me :D

Your poem is so great! I love your type of writing style. I usually only read poems that rhyme but this one is perfectly fine without rhyming or any of that, its message is clear and straightforward. And I like your different view of suicidal people, its refreshing, I mean we tend to group them all together and fit them into some stereotype like they are all emo's or something, but really they are all individuals who have reached the point of suicide because of different things. Anyways, you should never look down on someone unless you are helping them up, every has been through different things in their life because some people are just less lucky, instead of judging or jumping to conclusions the best thing you can go is help.

But seriously, you are a very interesting poet! Please keep writing :)
