HELP!! Explain what the Marshall Plan was following WWII and how it helped and hurt America....
OK! After world war 2, many countries were broke and couldn't pay to fix the damages such as blown up buildings, bridges, roads, etc. So in order to help Europe recover from the war, the United States came up with the Marshall Plan. It is named after Secretary of State George Marshall. The Marshall Plan offered help and finances to European countries in order to recover from World War II.
The Marshall Plan benefited the American economy as well. The money would be used to buy goods from the United States, and they had to be shipped across the Atlantic on American merchant vessels
