What is the difference between monarchy and a constitutional government?

OpenStudy (thoritegem):

A Monarchy is ruled by one person that makes all of the rules, whereas a constitutional government usually runs on a constitution that has they basic laws that can't be broken. It is also usually run by more than one person.

OpenStudy (a_clan):

And that in a monarchy, the head of state is hierarchical. For eg. Queen Elizabeth of Britain is followed by her 'daughter',most probably, as the next queen, which makes Britain a monarchical state. While this is not the case with a constitutional head of state, where the successor can be any person from among the citizens who is directly or indirectly elected.
