my exam is over, but i need to know the answer to this surprising question :( When the load is uniformly distributed, the cable of a suspension bridge hangs in the shape of an arc of a parabola. the supporting towers are 18 meters high and 150 meters apart. and the lowest point on that cable is 3 meters above the roadway. Using the floor of the bridge as the x-axis and the axis of symmetry of the parabola as the y-axis. a. find the equation of the parabola which the cable assumes b. find the height of a supporting rod 24 meters from the center of the bridge.
